The Mansfield handbook

Living Here

The unglamorous essentials, kept current — schedules, setups, and who to call. Bookmark it once, use it for years.

Trash & recycling

sample data — wired to city schedules

Pickup day depends on your address. Look yours up once — we’ll show the day plus every holiday slide for the year.

Find your pickup day

Bulk & brush

Curbside bulk pickup runs monthly by zone. Set items out no earlier than 48 hours before your date.

Holiday slides

On collection holidays, pickup slides one day for the rest of the week. We list each one in the newsletter the week it happens.

Schools & MISD

2025–26 dates from MISD calendar

Mansfield ISD serves most of the city. Find your campus by address, then keep these dates on the fridge.

Key dates

Spring BreakMar 16–20
Last day of schoolMay 22
GraduationMay 23–24

Find your campus

School zones follow your address, not your neighborhood name. MISD’s locator gives the definitive answer.

Enrollment is online. You’ll need proof of residency, ID, immunization records and the previous school’s info.

Utilities: set up in an afternoon

Three calls, in this order. The checklist PDF has the same steps with room to jot confirmation numbers.

1

Water, sewer & trash

One account through City of Mansfield Utility Billing. Start service online or at City Hall; trash carts arrive within a week.
2

Electric

Texas is deregulated — you pick the retail provider; Oncor delivers regardless. Compare plans before the movers show up.
3

Internet

Fiber and cable coverage varies block to block. Check availability by address; install slots book out 1–2 weeks in summer.
